The PCA-1 is designed to measure contact angles by placing the device on an object. It's hand-held and lightweight, allowing measurement of the following objects in situ:

  • Measurement directly on large panels and objects without breaking off sample pieces
  • Coating of automobile bodies or building-blocks directly
  • Parts of the human body
  • Measurement in the field

PCA-1 Explainer

Automatic operation: Push the start button on the device or the software screen to perform fully automatic measurement from dispensing of the droplet to display of the contact angle results.

Liquid samples are prepared in the syringe, which can be easily mounted or dismounted from the body.

The PCA-1 can capture images at 30fps to obtain data for the time function. Surface free energy analysis and surface tension measurement by pendant drop method are also available.
